MARGARET MORRELL. BA Hons. Dip. Soc.Wk.
Registered Social Worker. MANZASW
SUPERVISOR AND SUPERVISION TRAINER

Margaret gained a Post Graduate Diploma in Social Work from Edinburgh University in 1973. She has worked in New Zealand and the UK across statutory, voluntary and health sectors in a wide range of social work and management positions.

Margaret is passionate about providing high quality supervision training for supervisors and workshops for supervisees. The workshops are very popular. They are practical, practice-based, interactive and fun. Margaret provides participants with easily understood theoretical material, and plenty of opportunities for practice and integration of the learning.

Margaret’s courses focus on the “how to” of supervision, providing tools and frameworks for both supervisors and supervisees. She receives consistently positive evaluations for her teaching style as well as the quality of the information she presents.

Margaret has developed expertise in supervision for allied health professionals. Health services throughout Australia and New Zealand regularly invite Margaret to provide supervision training for their staff.

Margaret has published a number of articles on aspects of supervision in New Zealand and the UK and has presented papers at conferences in Australia and New Zealand.

Margaret is committed to sound ethical practice.  Her accountability is maintained through her own regular professional supervision and through membership of the Aotearoa New Zealand Association of Social Workers.
