SUPERVISION BY TELEPHONE

How to maximise the potential of telephone supervision to promote rural practitioners’ resilience, reflective practice & professional growth

Quality supervision is essential for all social workers & other health professionals. By providing a trusting relationship where workers are supported and extended, it assists them to manage complex and challenging situations. By encouraging reflective practice, it helps them stay invigorated in their work, and prevents burnout. Quality supervision helps workers to stay in touch with professional ethics, & to provide the best service to their clients.

Rural practitioners often work in isolation. Time constraints and funding issues may prevent them accessing face to face supervision.  Telephone or Skype supervision has been shown to be an extremely beneficial alternative.

Who should attend?

Participants on this workshop will learn strategies for maximising the benefits of phone supervision. These tips will equally benefit supervisors and supervisees engaged in, or planning to engage in, supervision by phone or Skype.
